Thames 21 Hills Meadow Clean-up

Some information below from Thames 21 about a local clean-up ou may be interested in joining....
Join Thames21 and volunteer as we give The Danall, a tributary of the Thames a clean up. The river has a lot of debris in it which need to come out. Some of us will be in thigh waders getting the debrids out such as large pieces of plastic and tyres whilst others will be on the bank moving the debris to a safe location in the park for Reading Borough Council to collect the next day. Some areas of the river are heavily shaded and we will be cutting back some of this vegetation to increase the biodiversity of the river allowing more light into it.
The starting location for the event will be Hills Meadow. From Reading Station go over Reading Bridge and it is the first park on your right hand side and look out for event leaders in Thames21 Hi Vis Vests in the car park. The postcode RG4 8DH is for George Street which is the main road where Hills Meadow Carpark is located.
All Equipment is provided by Thames 21 but please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions and remember to bring a bottle of water with you. Under 16′s are more than welcome as long as they have a responsible adult accompanying them.
